Hello skincare pals! I am back with an updated skincare routine, and I cannot wait to share all my favourite products with you. It’s been a while since I spoke to you about what goes on my face every day, and now that we’re so close to the summer, I think it’s about time we have an update. So here is my summer skincare routine, from start to finish.
I start by washing my face with water in the morning, before spraying it with toner. My current favourite is the apricot toner by Elemis, and believe me when I tell you, it smells amazing. If I have any irritation, it works to soothe the skin, and prep it for the next step.
Next, I moisturise. I ran out of my favourite boujie Elemis cream, and while I do have a replacement for it, I wanted to try something new first. So I went through my stash and found the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré*. I’d read a million good reviews about it, and had a friend recommend it, so I went for it and I really like it. Its rich, but not too thick consistency makes it a pretty good base for everything else that goes onto the skin, making it smooth and hydrated. It’s also a makeup artist favourite, and I like that.
Sometimes, I mix in a couple of drops of the Bybi Strawberry Booster, which helps nourish, soothe and hydrate the skin. During the past two months, I travelled a fair amount, and we all know what aeroplane air, combined with late nights (and wine) can do to the skin, so this has been a good little helper in my battle with dehydrated skin. Plus, it comes in a pink bottle, which is always a bonus.
Eye care is something I have struggled to get used to, but as I’m approaching my 25th birthday, I think it’s about time I made sure it’s a regular part of my routine. A couple of months ago, I got to try the Clinique All About Eyes* eye cream. I took it on holiday with me, absolutely loved it and have been using it since.
It’s a got a gel-cream consistency, which means it’s not super heavy and feels really nice on the skin. It now serves as both my morning and evening eye area product.
I give everything a few minutes to sink in before I apply my sun cream.
If there’s one thing I tell every single person who mentions something about skincare, it’s how important sun cream is. My current favourite one is from Dermalogica, and it’s their Prisma Protect SPF30*. It only came out a few months ago, and I’m already starting to dread the moment I run out of it. It protects you from UV rays, moisturises and the light-activated drone technology boosts the skin’s luminosity.
Basically, it makes your skin feel great, protected and looking gorgeous, AND it smells super nice.
And then I’m done and run out of the house because I’m probably late.
What are your summer skincare staples?
