Postcards from Zurich

Going back to a favourite place is always the best, isn’t it? I recently went to Zurich to spend some time with my family, and I was reminded once again of how much I love this place.

It’s so calm and the pretty pastel houses are incredibly Instagramable, even when the city is in one of those grey moods. On top of all that, you’re literally in the best city in the world to find good chocolate. It’s definitely a must-visit destination, and not just as a gateway to the Alps.

I’ve learned that Zurich is beautiful in all seasons, and there really is something for everyone to love. If my words are not enough to make you want to visit, scroll down to see how gorgeous the city is!

I can’t complain about the weather, because one of the days was beautifully sunny, so my plan to head to Movenpick came true. It’s the best ice cream in town, trust me! You really must try their pear sorbet, it’s a dream! Bonus points for admiring the gorgeous opera house with one in hand.Zurich Opera house and Kristina eating Movenpick ice creamZurich Opera On my last day, it was quite cold and wet, so mum and I went for a short walk, stopped by Sephora, because you can’t go to a city blessed with it and not visit. Somehow I didn’t do any damage (probably because I only had hand luggage!) As a reward, we treated ourselves to coffee and cake at Confiserie Sprungli. I definitely recommend! And I love it even more in the summer when you can hang out by the lake all day, looking at the boats and munching on ice cream and trying to not get eaten by the swans. Swans in Lake Zurich
