I don’t have the faintest idea where the year has gone, but here we are again, around the corner from Christmas. Which means it’s time for Gift Guides!
The thing I do love most about this time of year is that I get to spend time with loved ones, and I can’t wait to go home and hang out with my family and friends. I also love giving gifts, and while I might find it stressful to find the perfect present for each and every person on my list, I know it’s always worth it.
So here’s my first gift guide this season, focusing on all things lifestyle, and I hope you get some inspiration for gifts for your loved ones, or something you may ask Santa for…
For the one who takes their laptop everywhere
When I was at uni, I always found it hard to find a bag that would fit my laptop and papers without being too bulky/get deformed from the weight while looking nice. For the busy bee, why not pick the Grace Deluxe Laptop Bag (£36)* from STM?
You can pick from six different colours, it’s lined with protective foam and soft faux fur to protect your laptop, and it’s not bulky at all. It’s also perfect for someone who travels for work, or just can’t bear being away from their laptop!
For the traveller
You can never go wrong with picking up some treats for your travel buddy, or your pal who’s off on an adventure in a land far, far away.
First up, is the Feather & Down Sleeping Bag (£15)*, which comes with a sleep balm, pillow spray, shower gel and an eye mask, all in travel size. All products have lavender and chamomile essential oils which help relax the body and mind and will definitely come in handy on a flight or for when you’re seriously jet-lagged and need to get to sleep!
Another gift idea for the frequent traveller is the Johnny Loves Rosie Passport and Luggage Tag set (£22)*. It comes in this gorgeous nude colour and can be personalised, which always makes an item feel special, don’t you think? Now, they will one never take someone else’s bags by accident, but their passport will have a snug coat, so it doesn’t get all dirty and creased.
For the one who likes to stay home & be cosy
To be honest, socks are always a brilliant gift, but when they are extra soft and luxurious, they are an even better treat. The Soak & Sleep Cashmere Socks (£28)* are the perfect gift for anyone who loves to get cosy and comfy.
They are SO soft, I may have spent a shameful amount of time stroking them.
For the style queen
I find buying clothes for others a bit of a difficult task, so what to give your friend who’s obsessed with fashion? I’d say Victoria Magrath’s (or as you may know her, INTHEFROW) book, The New Fashion Rules (£8.50) is the perfect gift, AND it’s super Instagrammable (and this is important!)
For the accessories lover
Accessories are one of my favourite things to play with, and can definitely make or break a look. Kartel Scotland’s modern watches are inspired by the dramatic Scottish landscapes and industrial heritage, and what makes them a perfect gift is the engraving option. You can add a lovely little message for your loved one engraved on the back of their new watch for £10. I also have a code for you – use KRISTINA15 for 15% off your order! The Kartel Scotland Watch* pictured is the Kendrick 40mm in rose gold. (From £109)
And then there’s jewellery. One of my favourite things to gift and receive. I used to switch up my pieces quite a lot in the past, so bought cheaper stuff, but now that I tend to wear a few key items every day, I like to look at more high-quality timeless pieces. If you’re not familiar with Astrid & Miyu, definitely check them out, as they have a gorgeous selection. If you want to gift me something from them, get in touch, I will send you a list.
For the homeowner
In this day and age, I feel like becoming a homeowner is an even bigger deal than in the past, so if your pal has recently acquired a property, get them something they can proudly display there. Why not treat them to a boujee set of candles?
Clive Christian is a British perfume brand, working to create the world’s finest perfumes. They have three different Candle Gift Sets (from £122)*, each of which carries the fragrance of one of the brand’s iconic perfumes.
I can tell you, they smell divine and would make the room feel luxurious and fabulous. A fun fact about the brand is that they are the only house to have been granted permission to use Queen Victoria’s crown on their bottles, which makes them even more special.
For the one you don’t know too well
Buying gifts for people you don’t know well can be stressful, but unless they’re a weirdo (soz), you can’t go wrong with a bit of stationery. Let’s face it, we all need somewhere to make lists, and how satisfying is it to cross things off from your to-do list? Give someone the joy of doing that. Paperchase always have a lovely selection of notebooks, but if you’re a lazy bum, you can also look on Amazon.
I hope this guide helps you with your Christmas shopping! Stay tuned for more to come!
