How nosy are you? Pretty nosy if you ask me, after all, you clicked on this bag spill post. But that’s ok because I’m nosy too. I love getting the bus and staring out the window, catching a glimpse of other people’s homes. (I swear I’m not a creep!) Sometimes when I hang out with my flatmate Greta, I open the little boxes she has or look inside her makeup bag. Because it’s always fun to see what products other people love. I also like the smell of lipsticks, so I sniff them.
Ok, this is now portraying me as a very strange person, so I’ll stop dropping random facts and just get on with the subject.
Just another quick thing, I’ve decided to start a little ‘Bag Spill’ series. With it I’ll show you my bag essentials for different occasions because I 1 – love reading posts like this and 2 – have different essentials for every day, beach and flight for example, so I thought it might be fun to share them.
First up is my everyday non-work bag. I say non-work because I can never for the life of it go to work with just a mini bag. Let me know if you’re interested in seeing a workday bag essentials, and I can add it to the series.
Now, now, let’s jump into my bag. This one here is my favourite little DKNY crossbody bag. It came with two straps, so it can also be a shoulder bag, should I desire it to. #practical
It’s quite a small bag, but I’ve been trying to teach myself not to carry half my household possessions when I’m out and about and having a tiny bag helps!
Here we go, the contents of my little pink bag!
Oh, how I love my Ray Bans. I’ve been obsessed with sunglasses for as long as I can remember, and tend to have a pair with me at all times. And yes, I am this bitch who wears sunglasses on the tube. Love it.
These are the Aviator Outdoorsman II in silver. I’ve had them since 2013 and they’re still my favourite pair that goes with everything and is almost always with me.
To be honest, there are days when I don’t carry a purse with me because I use the ApplePay app. However, when I do have one in my bag I have my Kate Spade Serenade Haven Lane bi-fold wallet. I had been wanting a small purse for the longest time so that I can get rid of all the unnecessary crap that I had in my old huge purse. You know, loyalty cards from places you’ve visited once, business cards of people you can’t remember and receipts from the embarrassing amount of hot drinks you purchase on a daily basis. This little guy here is 1 – gorgeous and sparkly and 2 – very practical, as it fits my ID and bank cards + has a neat little change pocket for the two times in the year that I bring cash with me. Or for when I go back to Bulgaria because people there seem to dislike having card machines…
I don’t think I need to explain this. A plain old iPhone 6 with a charming sparkly ASOS case. And a cracked screen protector. I swear if it’s not cracked is it even a screen protector??
These babies were a part of my Christmas gift from Simon, and I have to admit, I was a bit sceptical about them and my ability to not lose them in a week, but three months into the year and I still have both of them. They are the Zolo Liberty Plus wireless earphones and boy, are they good! I promise, I am not being paid to say this, but I should since I very much love them! They are in-ear ones obviously and are quite comfy. You connect them to your phone and get over three hours of play time. Then the case charges them and overall, they say you get about 48 hours’ worth of battery, but I think it’s a bit more. Basically, they’re great, get a pair. Just look at this pretty case! And you don’t look like a weirdo walking around with the Apple AirPods…
This must be the most important thing in my bag. I hate having dry lips, so if I happen to forget my lip product, I feel miserable. Seriously… As you can see, I have my Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom (of course) here. Yes, I am obsessed with it, but it’s only because it’s the best lip balm I’ve ever had. Plus, as you might expect from the name, it smells like cake. I’ve talked about it already and be sure this isn’t it’s the last mention. It’s just so good!!!
Another very important item in my bag. No one wants dry rough hands, but it’s inevitable in the cold months, so I always, always have a cream with me. And when we shake hands I’ll have nice soft paws. This is weird.
Anyways, I just ran out of my Merci Handy hand cream and replaced it with the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream – Intensive Moisturising Hand Treatment. Compared to the first one, it’s a lot more grown up – a sleek packaging and herbal scent make me feel like a grown ass woman. And then I say things like this and it all goes away… I’ve only just started using it, but it’s quickly becoming a favourite of mine. The 8 Hour Hand Treatment is designed to moisturise, calm and protect the hands. It’s quite thick but gets absorbed quickly by the skin, so I don’t leave greasy marks everywhere.
I like to have a little bottle of perfume in my bag, especially if I’m going to be out all day. It’s nice to be able to pop a bit behind my ears and on my wrists halfway through the day – it makes me feel immediately refreshed. Currently, I have a tiny bottle of Elizabeth Arden’s Untold fragrance. It’s quite a feminine scent, with top notes of blackcurrant, bergamot, pink pepper and pear, mid notes of gardenia, peony and jasmine and base notes of sandalwood, patchouli heart, musk and amber, which all blend together so well.
And that’s it. Oh, and my keys, but I didn’t think they were very picture-worthy, soz.
I feel like I’ve made a number of weird statements in this post, and it’s also become very long, so I’ll wrap it up. What are your everyday handbag essentials?
